Children's Portraits - Stagecoach

You know how you go and stop in the silly tourist things, and plunk around in there? Well, this image made me so glad we stopped. Genoa, Nevada - the oldest settlement in Nevada - and has a nice park with some historic things to see. Josh decided to get a job cooking on the wagon train. I was just amazed at the light coming in from the side, and grabbed my camera to capture this one. Just a kiss of on camera bounced fill flash and some Cottage Industry Lightroom Pre-sets, and here it is...

I am grateful that Josh enjoys himself as I photograph him. You really can't tell kids this age to pose, but we always manage to capture so good stuff...

We are here in our favorite place, and remarking at how much Josh has grown. Family traditions are so precious, and it's exciting to see our son remember things about this place!

Personal - Pay It Forward...

Something very sad happened today. Since it's so private and painful, I won't go into any details, but some dear friends are gutted with grief, and my heart is breaking for them. I spent the whole day in a fog. I kept hoping it was just a bad dream, and we'd wake up and everything would be fine. I wanted to do something good and kind to somehow balance the sadness I am feeling. I was guided to the right place to do good, and make someone happy. I am a firm believer in "paying it forward," and encourage anyone who reads this message to take a moment and do something for someone that they aren't expecting, and spread a beacon of hope in a sometimes very dark place. I hope the tiniest angels look upon these acts of love, and know how they inspired us.

Children's Portraits - very exciting news coming soon!

shhhhhh..... It's almost finished! The brand new website for our children's portraiture work!!! We have put a lot of heart and soul into this one, and a lot of our clients' adorable faces! Look for a special announcement and a contest coming by October 15, 2008!

Wedding Photography - Shannon & Tim

I am feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Today was Shannon and Tim's wedding, and being there with them as they were married was a beautiful thing! I have done photographs for two other couples they know - Michelle and Ted, and Melinda and Peter, and being referred to Shannon and Tim for their wedding was just the perfect fit! This image is from their ceremony, right after they had taken Communion. Such a pure and wonderful moment! Life is good, and love is wonderful... Congratulations!!

Also, special thanks to my wonderful associate photographer, Amy Shat of Oaks & Acorns! It was lovely to have you with me! This dancing shot is one of my favorites from Amy, and I processed it like a plastic Holga Camera image.
