Santa Cruz Family Portrait Photography - Natural Bridges

Has anyone ever truly surprised you? Yesterday was such a great day!!! It started out with Marc Benjamin and Mercury stopping by my office, and picking me up for a great lunch at Cafe Flore in the Castro. Mercury shared his awesome pix of the behind the scenes look at Alcatraz, which totally blew me away. When I got home, my door bell rang, and I got the best surprise!! My best buddy Jacki V who now lives in Minnesota was standing there. You should have seen my face... :^) Anyway, she was in town for a family portrait session, and so I went along with her. What a gorgeous family they are!! After studying with Mercury, I just saw things differently at this session, and here are some of my favorites. My style has been to shoot tighter, and I wanted to really show some of the whole picture so to speak... I am really pleased with the way it all turned out! Thanks to Jacki for such an amazing surprise - it was so great to see you, and to Mercury for making me "see" differently! Oh, and thanks to Shelley & Robert for having such a beautiful family! You guys were awesome!!!!

San Francisco Event Photography - EcoChic

Last night was a fun evening... I was hired to photograph one of San Francisco's greenest events, EcoChic. It's all about green and all about chic, and the vendors had really cool wares for sale... I'll post more images later, but this is one of my favorites... it has such a vintage feeling about it!

After that I got to judge image awards at the photography association, and hang out with some fellow PPGBA friends and Mercury Megaloudis, Australia's Photographer of the Year, and really fun party animal. Today I attended his seminar that we hosted in San Francisco, and despite being a bit ragged from the night before, I am renewed and inspired!

Sonoma Mission Wedding Photography

As many of you may know, I have a specifically soft spot in my heart for Sonoma Weddings, since Ray and I were married at the Sonoma Mission (Mission San Francisco Solano) in 2001. Well, yesterday's wedding was awesome for me... I was the associate photographer for Shannon Stellmacher Photography. The couple married in the Sonoma Mission courtyard under the olive trees, and their reception was about 20 feet from where ours was... It was such an amazing feeling to see a wedding in the same venue look so different, and yet so familar. The bride was lovely, very much like Grace Kelly, and the love between them is the stuff legends are made of!!

Details, details... I also love getting the chance to photograph the details of a wedding in an interesting way. I have always admired one of my colleagues, Jill, who manages to get amazing reflection shots, so this one's for you!

Pet Portraits - Chi-chi does the 'patch!

Hey, even pups enjoy the pumpkin patch!
Chi-chi visited the Farmer's Daughter Pumpkin Patch today with her "mom," Martha.
She stayed among the white pumpkins though... I think she was trying to blend in! I love dogs that smile!!!
